3... 2... 1... Zero Intelligence

Two men in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., decided to try a “barrel ride.” We’ve never heard of it either, but here’s how you can try it at home: Dump 4 gallons of methanol into a 55-gallon drum, sit on it, and drop in a match. “Apparently it was supposed to slide across the parking lot like a rocket,” said Fire Chief Dean Klinger. But the drum was sealed, so “instead, it blew up.” One end of the barrel was found 120 feet away. The men did get an exciting ride — in a chopper to a burn center, where they were in serious condition. Officials didn’t release the men’s names or ages.
