Always Back Up, Unless You Don’t Want a Backup

Seminole County, Fla., Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Fetchick’s wife found a large set of text messages on his iPad. The device was linked to Fetchick’s phone, and so contained all of the over 7,000 explicit text messages he had exchanged with Sgt. Valencia LaRue. The messages allegedly included coordination for various liaisons while one or both of the officers were on duty. Both officers were investigated and found guilty of abandoning their posts, conduct unbecoming of an officer, and violating department ethics. Fetchik was fired and LaRue had already resigned. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is deciding whether to strip both officers of their certifications, which would prevent them from again becoming law enforcement officers in the state. (MS/News 13 Orlando) ...You always knew that unlimited data plan would come back and bite you.
