Always Finish Reading Before Taking Action

Beaumont, Texas, police officers responding to a 3:00 a.m. burglar alarm at a store arrived to find an open door — and there was someone inside. In fact, the intruder met officers at the door to show them the toys he found. It was a 4-year-old boy. Security camera footage shows the boy walked up and tried a door. He found it locked, so he simply tried another, and found it unlocked. He let himself in and then explored. His parents had no idea he had snuck out in the middle of the night. “All indications are he just got up, went out the door and went shopping,” an officer said. The boy was released to his family. Several nights later officers responded to more intruders at the same store, apparently smelling opportunity when they heard the store was careless with door locks. Officers arrested Houston Harmon, 43, and Terrell White, 41, on attempted burglary charges. (RC/Beaumont Enterprise, 2) ...What, they skipped over the burglar alarm and security camera parts of the story?
