Another Minute of Fame

Charges have been dropped in a drug case in Broward County, Fla. Edward Cocaine, 34, proved he had a prescription for the pills he was carrying when arrested in April after a traffic stop (see “Freak of Nomenclature, Florida Division” earlier in this volume). “I’m very happy,” Cocaine said afterward. “Naturally high.” Cocaine said it was “pretty cool” that his arrest went viral online, thanks to his unusual name. “I was famous for a minute.” But things aren’t so happy for another Floridian, who has been arrested a second time. Her first arrest was for marijuana possession; her second is for “shooting an offensive missile into a vehicle” in Polk County. Reports didn’t reveal exactly what sort of “missile” was involved, but they noted Crystal Metheny, 36, was released after posting $5,000 in bail. (RC/South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Orlando Sentinel) ...The news of her third arrest is expected to go viral online.
