Arrested Development

Angela Estrella, 37, was being held on house arrest in Osceola County, Fla., pending trial for attempted second-degree murder, vehicular homicide, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, among other charges. When a judge allowed her to remove her ankle bracelet monitor, Estrella allegedly fled, renting a car and driving north. Her rental car broke down, and she called for a tow truck. Estrella then allegedly asked the driver, Mike Frazier, if he could take her to New York. When he refused, she asked if she could borrow his tow truck. “I thought she was kidding and I said, ‘Sure’,” Frazier said. “Really?” Estrella asked, and Frazier replied, “No.” But when Frazier turned his back, Estrella allegedly jumped in the truck and drove off. The truck was equipped with GPS and police apprehended Estrella when she stopped for gas. She was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle. “She was a nice, sweet lady,” Frazier said. “I would’ve never expected this from her.” (MS/Daytona Beach News-Journal) ...You never really know someone until you — you know — know them.
