Attention Walmart Shoppers

As an unnamed man left a Walmart store in Santa Fe, N.M., three women caught up with him and said he had a “dark spirit” following him — and that they could help “cleanse” his soul to stop it. He went with them to their van, where they asked for all his money and jewelry, “because that was the root of his problems.” He didn’t have very much cash, so at their suggestion he went back into Walmart and cashed a check for $500. “At one time or another we are all gullible, but that was a little over the top,” observed a Walmart shopper when told of the case later. “Most common sense people would not fall for that line right there. It just doesn’t make sense,” said another. It took several days for the man to “think” he had been had and call the police. Amazingly, investigators were able to find the women, who handed over the man’s jewelry, but insisted they didn’t have his money. They didn’t charge the women because they “technically” didn’t commit a crime. Police noted the women told them they planned to get a license and open a shop in the city. (RC/KOAT Albuquerque) ...Well why not, when their scam is police-sanctioned.
