Batter Up!

A squad of 25 police officers from various departments were finishing up several days of training in Upper Darby, Pa., to be certified to patrol on bicycles. After finishing their classes they were out for a ride together as an exercise. As they pedaled through a park, they couldn’t help but observe a couple by the baseball diamond. “There they are, on the first base line,” said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. “There’s a bench, she is bent over the bench and our friend is behind her with his pants down to his ankle, banging away.” The officers stopped and arrested Jennifer Harvey, 41, and Richard McBride, 37, who were charged with open lewdness and disorderly conduct. (RC/Philadelphia Inquirer) ...First base? I thought that was called a home run.
Author’s Note: Oops! I wrote up a story from one newspaper ...and had already assigned the same incident reported by another newspaper to Mike. But hey: why not let you read both versions? It’s fairly fascinating the different quotes they had from the same police superintendent. Coming up next.
