Blacklisted Babysitters

Victoria Brice, 28, was pulled over for a faulty brake light in Bandera County, Texas. “I don’t see any lights out,” her attorney said after he reviewed the deputies’ dash-cam video. “It looks like a completely illegal stop.” But it went on from there: deputies discovered Brice had an expired driver’s license, and she was handcuffed and taken to jail. Her attorney claims that an expired license is not an arrestable crime. What can’t be seen in the video: Brice’s 2-year-old daughter was sitting alone in her mom’s car. The video ends with the police cars driving away, leaving the child behind. The county claims a deputy stayed behind to watch the child from his vehicle, but that’s not shown in the video. County officials say the involved personnel have received “counseling” on policies involving children, but can’t comment further since (no surprise!) a lawsuit is now pending. (JW/KSAT San Antonio) ...They’re claiming they deserve SOME credit for having left the girl with a loaded gun for protection.
