Blue Light Special

Employees at a Kmart store in West St. Paul, Minn., called 911 for help over an out-of-control 10-year-old boy. The unnamed brat had hit a store employee and was pounding on the store’s door screaming, they reported. When an officer arrived, the boy was trying to ride away on his bicycle and, when stopped, picked up the bike and threw it at the patrol car, smashing its windshield and denting the hood. “He was having a dispute with his caretaker and wanted a BB gun,” said Police Chief Bud Shaver. When that was denied to him, he started “throwing a hissy-fit.” Shaver said his officers are “really familiar” with the boy, with several previous “encounters” with him on file. But criminal charges are unlikely due to his age. (RC/St. Paul Pioneer Press) ...Note to his “caretaker”: thank you for your wise decision.
