But He Did Not Shoot the Deputy

“I can say I shot the sheriff,” said Lorin Nielsen, the sheriff of Bannock County, Idaho. He was checking out an early Christmas present — a gun — and, when cocking it, slipped and accidentally fired it. The bullet went through his hand. “My pride is fractured,” the sheriff says, since the shooting led to a formal investigation, “but my hand is fine.” (RC/KIFI Idaho Falls) ...Then it’s not a large enough caliber for police work.
