Catch ’em If You Can

Police in Chicago, Ill., are fighting with vandals who are messing with them at the Morgan Park precinct station. For instance, “We’ve come across four cars with lug nuts either removed or loosened” in the station’s parking lot, said an officer. In another case, a chunk of concrete — “it weighs every bit of 50 pounds” — was dumped in the parking lot and spray-painted with an “anarchy A” symbol, the officer says. The parking lot does have a security camera, but a tree obscures its view, so an officer has been posted to watch the lot. (RC/Chicago Tribune) ...What makes more sense: taking an officer off the beat to guard the lot, or pruning the tree?
