When Chicago, Ill., police pulled over Shandra Kidd, 22, she ran. An officer chased her down, and when he caught up with her, she stuck a gun in the officer’s chest and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. They struggled and both fell. Then Kidd got up, put the gun in the officer’s chest again, and pulled the trigger again; again nothing happened. Investigation showed that during the foot chase, her gun’s cylinder had opened and all the bullets fell out. Unfortunately for Kidd, the officer didn’t have that problem: he shot her in the buttocks. After a trial on charges of attempted murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, Kidd was sentenced to 55 years in prison. (MS/Chicago Sun-Times) ...When it’s a serious crime, they usually try Kidds as adults.
