Coffee, Tea, or Me?

The story of what was happening at a Westbrook, Maine, strip club depends on who you ask. The club had been closed because of multiple code violations, but according to the city, when police checked on the building they “came upon activity that appeared to indicate that Dreamers Cabaret was open for business.” There were several men inside and a few women were serving coffee while music blared, lights flashed, and a disco ball spun overhead. The owner, Adam Goodwin, said they were plumbers making emergency repairs. He said the club’s lighting system comes on when the music is turned on, hence the disco ball and flashing lights. Suspicious officers couldn’t identify any licensed plumbers in the group or see evidence of any repairs being made. “They certainly weren’t dressed like plumbers,” said Police Chief William Baker. (MS/Portland Press Herald) ...Maybe not, but there were still plenty of cracks in evidence.
