Cold-Blooded Hotness

Cook County, Ill., sheriff’s deputies entered a suburban home with a search warrant, looking for the occupants’ pet. They found it, they said, in the kitchen: Dewayne Yarbrough’s 4-foot-long alligator. Gators often grow to 14 feet, but Yarborough, 43, kept his small by confining it to a fish tank and feeding it just 10 mice monthly, police said he told them. And why keep it at all? “Chicks dig it,” Yarborough told them. Police said the beast, which they and animal control removed from the premises, would go to the Chicago Herpetological Society. Meanwhile, Yarbrough was charged with misdemeanor possession of a dangerous animal and was freed on bail. (AC/Chicago Tribune) ...Did he tell the “chicks” how hard he worked to keep his lizard small?
