Criminal, Find Thyself

Andrew Joffe, 24, called 911 after getting lost in Chuluota, Fla. Officers responded and found Joffe, then discovered he had an outstanding warrant and took him into custody. An inventory of his backpack turned up several allegedly stolen items. Police say Joffe admitted to having broken into a car shortly before he got lost. The items taken include a GPS receiver, which was still on. Charges of burglary-conveyance and petit theft were added, and Joffe was taken to jail. “We have had people with warrants call us to turn themselves in before, but it’s unusual for someone with an active warrant, who just burglarized a car, to get lost and call us for help,” Sheriff Grady Judd said. (MS/WWSB Sarasota) ...If you’re not smart enough to use the GPS, youre probably not smart enough to know what will happen when you call 911.
