Crimson-Faced

The Harvard University Alumni Association has apologized for printing a status update in its Red Book of an alumnus ahead of the Class of 1962’s 50th reunion. Theodore Kaczynski, who graduated that year, sent his update to note his current job title is “Prisoner”. The update notes his awards include “eight life sentences” and his publications include his “Technological Slavery” manifesto. Kaczynski, now 70, was dubbed the “Unabomber” (for University and Airline Bomber) after a domestic terrorism spree, during which he killed three people and injured 23, many severely, with 16 bombs. He is serving life in federal prison. Some classmates were outraged by the updates, while others shrugged it off as a “joke.” (RC/Boston Herald) ...Veritas, Vanity — you be the judge.
