Don’t Touch

A security guard at the McNamara Federal Building in Detroit, Mich., which among other agencies houses the local offices of the FBI, found a suspicious package outside the building. He picked it up, took it inside, and dropped it off at Lost and Found. It wasn’t until three weeks later that “someone got the idea to x-ray the package,” said a spokesman for the American Federation of Government Employees union, and “it turned out to be a bomb.” The device is now being analyzed by the FBI — offsite — and the security guard has been suspended for not following procedure. All of the guards at the building have been ordered to be retrained on security protocols. (RC/ABC News) ...Or maybe just transfer him to guard what’s left of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
