Dopes on Dope

Police responded to a complaint of prostitution and narcotics activity at a hotel in Jacksonville, Fla. When they knocked on the hotel room door, the door opened, a 4-year-old boy said, “Hi, policeman!”, and the door slammed shut. The officers could smell marijuana. The manager unlocked the door, but the chain prevented it from opening completely. According to the report, police saw a man peering through the crack, and they asked him whose child the boy was. “What kid? I don’t know whose kid that is, it ain’t mine,” he said. They ordered him to open the door and found Matthew Reagan and the boy sitting on a bed. While the police questioned Reagan, the boy tried to pick up what was later identified as crack off the floor and eat it, but police stopped him. Reagan allegedly told the officers he paid for the room so the child’s mother could use it to conduct prostitution. Reagan and the man at the door, Quentine Crawford, were arrested, and the boy was taken to a hospital, where police say he tested positive for cocaine. A warrant was being sought for the boy’s mother. (MS/Florida Times-Union) ...Looks like the boy was the smartest one there.
