Driven

A woman driving on U.S. Highway 71 in Kansas City, Mo., saw a man dancing in the roadway, which had caused traffic to screech to a halt. The man came over to her car, jumped on the hood, pointed a gun at her, and yelled “Drive!” She did just that — straight to the headquarters of the Kansas City Police, about two and a half miles away. When she arrived, the door to the police garage was down. That didn’t stop her: it took three tries to ram through the door, with the man still holding on to her car’s hood, while an attendant inside yelled for help over his radio. Once the car broke through the door, which completely destroyed it, the carjacker, who had apparently lost his gun, ran out to board a city bus to escape, but officers arrived and arrested Dionnete L. Price, 26. A police spokesman had just one thing to say about the incident: “Very effective.” (RC/Kansas City Star) ...It wasn’t quite effective enough if he could still run away.
