Dude — I’m Planning on Getting Trashed Today

“Unfortunately he found a weakness in our security and he took advantage of it,” said El Paso County (Texas) Sheriff Richard Wiles. Carlos Roberto Medina-Bailon, 30, who was awaiting trial on drug distribution charges, was on kitchen duty, and snuck out to the jail’s loading dock, got into a trash dumpster, and escaped when a trash truck emptied it. Once jailers figured out the escape route, they tracked the truck and found it had unloaded at a trash dump in New Mexico. Medina-Bailon was found there — he was crushed when the truck compacted the trash, and killed. A U.S. Marshall who helped in the investigation noted that “We don’t believe, at this time anyway, that any kind of foul play was involved.” (RC/El Paso Times) ...But you can bet there was a foul odor.
