Ease On Down the Road

Officers of Canada’s Ontario Provincial Police have concluded their spring seatbelt campaign, pulling over vehicles to see if the occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The 33-year-old driver of a green van was, but his passenger was not: the regular passenger seat was missing, and the male passenger was sitting in a rocker-recliner. A seatbelt for the chair was beside the point: the recliner wasn’t even bolted to the floor. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, and for operating an unsafe vehicle. (RC/CBC) ...Heck, plenty of guys sitting in their living rooms in rocker-recliners could use seatbelts.
