For Serious Transgressions, He Recommends The Rack

When his 16-year-old daughter went to another town without permission, Freemon Everett Seay, 38, allegedly meted out an unusual punishment. Police say the Yelm, Wash., man, who is a Renaissance fair enthusiast, first beat the girl with a switch while he sat on her (he weighs 300 pounds), and then forced the girl to dress up in a suit of armor, and beat on her with a wooden sword until she could no longer stand — which took about two hours. “I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Thurston County sheriff Lt. Greg Elwin. Seay was charged with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon; his wife, Julie, 42, was charged as an accessory. Seay says his Renaissance fair activities are a hobby, though “It’s really more of a lifestyle.” (RC/Bellingham Herald) ...Then he won’t object when the judge suggests he be drawn and quartered.
