Full Exposure

For 16 years, the City of Houston, Texas, has required dancers in strip clubs to wear something — pasties, at least. The 16 clubs in existence at the time of the rule change have been fighting it all along. In a settlement agreement, the city will allow those clubs — and only those clubs — to dispense with the pasties ...in exchange for an annual million-dollar payment. “We’re a topless club, and we’re going to offer topless entertainment,” crowed one of the club attorneys. “These 16 clubs are going to give a million dollars every year. This isn’t a one-time punch.” The money will go to law enforcement, and “allow us to focus police resources on the rogue clubs,” Mayor Annise Parker says. (RC/KHOU Houston) ...You can’t fight city hall — but you can buy it.
