God Went Down to Florida

A burglary was reported in progress at Psychic Corner in West Palm Beach, Fla., but the man police found there apparently wasn’t looking for anything to steal. The glass storefront was “smashed out,” police said, TVs had been torn down, and “there was very little left in the store that was reusable.” Standing outside was Michael Novatka, 26, who was, he told police, “perfectly sane.” Novatka explained that he was a prophet sent “to get rid of the devil’s evil doings.” After questioning, he showed officers more of his inspired handiwork: a white Jeep with its leather seats and wiring cut up and, written on the outside in Novatka’s own blood, the words “Fear God.” (AC/Jupiter Courier) ...Why bother fearing God when prophets are so scary?
