Gone Ballistic

Stephen Forthman of North Knoxville, Tenn., wears a t-shirt depicting a hand holding a gun, and the words, “I Don’t Dial 911”. That’s apparently his real philosophy: when he encounters a problem, his first response seems to be to try to shoot it away. When his house caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames, firefighters found him in the front yard, shooting his gun at the burning house. He was also screaming threats — apparently at the fire. Police restrained and disarmed him; the house was destroyed. Apparently Forthman didn’t dial 911 on another occasion, too, when he had chest pains and tried to cure them by shooting himself in the torso. His brother-in-law saved him by getting the gun away and calling an ambulance. (JW/Knoxville News-Sentinel) ...That’s clear misuse of a powerful painkiller.
