Good Girls Don’t (But I Do)

Brea Persley, 13, a student at the Century Academy of Excellence in Inglewood, Calif., says her science teacher told her to “sit your nappy-headed self down.” Other students laughed. The teacher called and apologized, but when the girl’s mother, Shronda Williams, called principal Giselle Edman to complain anyway, Williams says Edman declared that “bad things need to happen to mean kids,” and then expelled the girl from the charter school. (RC/KTLA Los Angeles) ...It’s hard to argue with that kind of logic.
