Guess Who Squawked

Agra, India, police say Neelam Sharma’s killer entered her house with an accomplice, planning to rob it. They say that he killed her out of fear she’d recognize him — and that he did the same to the dog, which barked. But he ignored the bird, which was silent. After the stabbings, though, Hercule the parrot began behaving oddly when Sharma’s nephew Ashutosh visited the house, even screeching when his name came up in conversation. “This raised my suspicion, and I informed the police,” said Vijay Sharma, the victim’s widower. Police say Ashutosh has confessed to the killing. (AC/Times of India) ...Does that mean his lawyer won’t get to cross-examine the parrot?
