Gurney Jockey

Kevin Cheeks, 44, has been convicted of three counts of robbery in Queens, N.Y. His getaway vehicle was easy for witnesses to describe: an ambulance. Cheeks had been an ambulance driver for two months, and had checked the rig out not knowing it had a GPS tracking device installed. Tracking records showed he parked at the scene of the robbery, then sped away afterward. When he returned the ambulance, police were waiting for him. As a persistent violent felon, Cheeks faces up to 20 years in prison for the crime. (RC/New York Daily News) ...Wait: New York allows “persistent violent felons” to work on ambulances?
