Yomonica Deloach, 32, was brought in for questioning regarding a 3-month-old burglary in Panama City, Fla. Her boyfriend was the chief suspect, and was sitting in jail on a different case, but they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him in the burglary. The missing loot would be good: if they found the jewelry stolen in the heist, they’d have an airtight case. During questioning, investigators say, Deloach was “obsessively fidgeting” with her hair. Once detectives realized it was a wig, they insisted she remove it. When she did, pearls and gold “cascaded to the table and floor around her” — the missing jewelry. Deloach was charged as an accessory to burglary, and with tampering with evidence. Her boyfriend was charged with the burglary. (RC/Panama City News Herald) ...Only in Florida would a woman go to the station to be interrogated wearing her crown jewels.
