He Cannot Tell a Lie

Paul Stoliker, 42, has been sentenced to 12 years and 8 months in prison for a pair of bank robberies in San Mateo, Calif. According to an affidavit filed by FBI Special Agent Adrienne Sparrow, Stoliker first walked into a U.S. Bank and asked a teller if there was an urgent care center nearby. The teller told him where one was and asked if he was OK. He said everything was fine, then handed her a piece of paper that said, “I’m unarmed.” He took $1,330 in cash, told the teller “I’m sorry I had to do this to you,” and then went straight to a Chase Bank several miles away, where he repeated the procedure, netting $3,230 more. When he was caught and police recovered the second hold-up note, though, it said something different: “Dumb Ass Robbing Bank.” (MS/San Francisco Chronicle) ...Sometimes criminals are completely honest.
