Holy Theft, Batman
“The church was totally stripped,” said Bernadine Smith, longtime member of the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Springfield, Mass. “Everything but the pews and a couple chairs out of the pulpit.” Police believe someone used a key to gain access to the church to steal communion dishes, the church organ, other musical instruments, even the PA system. Smith estimated losses of approximately $150,000. She also believes the church has insurance, but it will take some research to see if it covers everything: the policy documents are among the stolen items. (MS/Springfield Republican) ...They left the pews? Then the church has everything it really needs.Original Publication Date: 15 September 2013
