Home Invasion

A woman at home alone in Los Angeles, Calif., was alerted by her security system at 2:40 a.m. of intruders in her house. She looked at the system cameras and saw four men with guns, and she called 911 for help. The gunmen found her, but police, complete with a SWAT response, quickly arrived. One gunman fled and was immediately caught; another hid in the backyard, and was caught by a police dog. The two others begged the woman to tie them up and tell police they were victims too. She tied them up — and fled. She told police outside what had happened, but before they could go in to arrest them, “They came out, still tied up, thinking that we were going to believe they were victims also,” said Officer Norma Eisenman. “That’s what you call felony stupid.” (RC/Los Angeles Times) ...The nice thing about felony stupidity: the crime itself is its own punishment.
