How To Make Sure This Happens Again

The manager of a comics store in Brisbane, Qld., Australia, saw a customer he knew well put a 50-cent price tag on an $8 comic, then bring it to the register to get it at the fraudulent price. “He did it right in front of me, too,” James Jagic says, and a security camera also got clear footage of the price tag switch. The unnamed thief, who is 19 years old, has applied for a job at the store twice, so Jagic not only had his name, but also his contact details. “When he came to the counter I said to him, ‘no you’re not buying that. I saw what you did’.” He then made the man leave the store and not come back for the rest of the day. End of story? Nope: “His dad called to yell at me for yelling at [his son] for shoplifting,” he said. “He had the audacity to tell me he was going to come into the store to talk to me about my behavior.” It’s the third or fourth time someone has tried to steal from his store after applying for a job there, Jagic says. As for the latest guy, who he called an “idiot,” Jagic doesn’t plan to press charges. (RC/Brisbane Courier-Mail) ...Idiot.
