How Zero Tolerance Plays Out in Business

The driver of a Brinks armored truck called police to report a man with a gun tried to rob him in broad daylight in Charleston, W.V. Police quickly tracked down the man, Kieon Sharp, 18, and took him in for questioning. Robbery? No, Sharp said: he had merely tapped on the driver’s window to ask about how he could get a job with Brinks. Police found no evidence of any weapons on Sharp, but he did have a number of job applications in his pocket, including one for Brinks. “He banged on the window and that scared the driver,” said Sgt. Bobby Eggleton. “You don’t approach those guys very often. They are on high alert because they carry a large amount of cash.” (RC/Charleston Gazette) ...Great that the drivers are that nervous: they really do carry guns.
