A truck in downtown St. Albans, Vt., lost its brakes — on a hill. It wasn’t just any truck: it was loaded with manure, and it sped through a busy intersection without hitting any cars. At the end of the road the driver squeezed between two parked cars, and “He went right through the building,” said a witness of the resulting crash — a vacant building between two businesses.
