Last of the Big Spenders

When police in Daytona Beach Shores, Fla., pulled over a stolen car at 3:30 a.m., the three occupants were not very cooperative with the officers. But it was an odd mix: a young couple, accompanied by a 72-year-old man. It took awhile to sort it all out, but the woman, Angela Miller, 33, was a stripper at the Shark Lounge. The driver, Shalamar Lawrence, 33, is her boyfriend. And their passenger, Robert Cook, couldn’t say who the couple were — just that “the black guy was driving me home.” Lawrence, 33, said he and his girlfriend were giving Cook a ride because he “had provided [Miller] with half of the money that she had earned from dancing” that evening, according to the officer’s report. Miller said she didn’t know Cook, but “he had spent $8 on her while she danced.” Miller and Lawrence were arrested and charged with car theft. Cook was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. (RC/Daytona Beach News-Journal) ...The worst part: that $8 was all in dimes.
