Lowering the Bar

The village of Homer Glen, Ill., has ruled that beauty salons may be licensed to serve alcoholic beverages to customers. The new category of “beauty salon and spa liquor license” mandates that booze has to be “part of a paid-for package” that includes some sort of beauty treatment, which will keep salons from just being a bar. (RC/Chicago Tribune) ...The more the customers drink, the better they think they look.
