MADD About You

Debra Oberlin, 48, was pulled over for suspected drunk driving in Gainesville, Fla., after an officer observed her car swerving and crossing lane boundaries. Oberlin smelled of alcohol, the officer said, and had watery, bloodshot eyes. She admitted she had consumed “four beers,” but a breath test registered her blood alcohol level at .234 and .239 percent. She was arrested. A Realtor being arrested for DUI isn’t normally news, but Oberlin was the president of the Gainesville chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving for three years, until the chapter fell apart and was disbanded. (RC/Gainesville Sun) ...Hard to believe it failed, with experience and leadership like that behind them.
