Make That “YouBoob”

Police clocked a driver of a BMW at 118 mph on Interstate 5 in Salem, Ore., and when they pulled him over, he explained that he was making a video to put on YouTube. Stanislav Bakanov, 30, told police he thought he was doing between 90 and 100 mph. Officers said the conditions on the road were dangerous at that speed because strong wind gusts had sent tree branches onto the highway. A Sheriff’s deputy said that as they walked into the police station, Bakanov was still recording. He played back for them what he’d recorded up to that point. The video showed the speedometer with the needle pegged, and even included the police stop. He had a mount on the windshield to hold the camera in place while he was driving. The camera was taken for evidence. Bakanov was booked for reckless driving, and his car was impounded. This was his third speeding incident in the past year. (JW/KATU Portland) ...Next up: a six-month-long video of Bakanov sitting in his jail cell.
