More Good Clean Fun

Firefighters, cops, paramedics and more turned up to a 20-year-old Australian’s home to rescue him. “Only three or four people actually helped, about 10 or 12 just stood back and said, ‘God, I haven’t seen this in 30 years’,” said the Mooroopna, Vic., man, who identified himself only as “Laurence.” He was playing hide-and-seek with his girlfriend, and the hiding place he’d picked was — you guessed it — the washing machine. (And he didn’t even have any clothes on.) The rescuers couldn’t lift Laurence out of the top-loader without lubrication, so they found some in his kitchen. “I was quite disappointed they used my good olive oil,” he said. But he came out once they turned the machine on its side. “It was a bit like birthing,” he said. (AC/Australian AP) ...Which he remembers because he hasn’t learned much since.
