“I’m just glad to be alive,” said Tom Negovan. He was nearly killed while riding his motorcycle and a car turned in front of him. He went through two hours of surgery on his spinal column after breaking two vertebra, and received 19 staples in the back of his head to close up a scalp wound. Doctors say it will take him three months to recover. After the accident, Negovan, a news anchor for WGN-TV in Chicago, Ill., says he feels he’s “the luckiest man in all of Chicago.” (RC/Chicago Tribune) ...Because he didn’t hurt his face.
