Mother Knows Best II

Robert Marucci, 18, is a senior at Cocoa (Fla.) High School. Principal Stephanie Soliven expelled him, claiming he threatened to bring a weapon to school; he denies that, and police found no evidence of a threat. The principal “flat out told me that my son was expelled, not just suspended,” his mother says, “due to his explicit adult lifestyle career.” Like many high school seniors, Marucci has a job, but his is a bit different: he performs in “adult” movies, and his mother, Melyssa Lieb, backs him completely. “I think he’s the most awesome person in the world,” she says, noting his new job supports her. “He stood up and he was the man of the house when I couldn’t be.” She says the principal “didn’t do anything to stop it” when other students found her son’s videos online. Dozens of students walked out when they found Marucci was expelled. Brevard County School District officials declared that “no child would ever be suspended for a job that they have outside of the school environment,” and apparently ordered Soliven to reinstate him. (RC/WKMG Orlando) ...Most teens get a position in a fast food joint. He gets to try a new position every day.
