Mower Mayhem II

Dana Boyles released her adult daughter’s 4-1/2 foot python, Delilah, from their Athens, Ohio, residence, she admits, after her daughter stopped feeding it. Boyles allegedly told a sheriff’s deputy that she intended to run it over with a lawn mower, but the snake escaped. Hocking Woods Nature Center director Dave Sagan located and captured Delilah. While some residents expressed concern about a snake on the loose, Sagan said it was too small to be a danger. Delilah is being held at the Nature Center until local authorities decide what to do with it. Meanwhile, Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly announced that snake hunters spotted some marijuana plants inside a trailer at the park, leading to a search of the premises. That turned up other drugs and paraphernalia — and a 5-year-old child in the house. The case has been referred to Children’s Services. “The evidence will be sent to the lab for testing,” Kelly said.
