My Soda Smells Funny

When Chaz Seale, 17, packed his lunch before heading to Livingston High School in Houston, Texas, “He was in a hurry, running late,” says his mom, Christi Seale. In his hurry, Chaz allegedly mistook a can of beer for a can of soda and threw it in his lunch. When he realized his mistake, he gave the unopened can to a teacher. “I gave it to the teacher, thinking I wouldn’t get in trouble,” he said. “I got in trouble.” The teacher gave the beer to the school’s principal, who then suspended Chaz for three days, and sent him to an alternative school for two months. “The principal of Livingston High School followed appropriate LISD administrative procedures and protocol,” the Livingston Independent School District said in a statement. Christi says the punishment is excessive and is appealing the decision. (MS/KTRK Houston) ...This is the best way to teach students that honesty is the best policy ...unless you’re under the authority of obliviots.
