Of Course He Floated — He’s from Hickory

Daniel Scott Lasky, 48, of Hickory, N.C., knew he was dying from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and asked to be buried at sea. When he died, his family packed him in dry ice and took him to south Florida, chartered a boat, went 4-1/2 miles out, and dropped him overboard. The next day, a fisherman called the Coast Guard: he found the body, floating. Lasky’s widow “did consult with a company up there where she lived and it was subcontracted with the company down here,” said Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright. “The burial would have been successful if Lasky’s body hadn’t floated back to the surface.” (RC/South Florida Sun-Sentinel) ...The lesson learned: such work should be subcontracted to the mafia. They have much more experience.
