Or I’ll Shut It For You

Rodney Lee Gilbert, 57, and Kimberly Gustafson, 50, fought in their Ocala, Fla., home. As they argued over her drinking, Gustafson went into a bedroom and returned with a gun. Family and friends, including Gilbert’s ex-wife, convinced her not to shoot. Just as things were finally cooling down, witnesses say, Gilbert stood up and told her, “Go ahead and shoot me.” Gustafson walked away, but Gilbert followed her down the hall, “repeatedly” telling her to shoot. She did — in the face. Police consulted state prosecutors as to what charge should be filed, and booked her for manslaughter. (MS/South Florida Sun-Sentinel) ...The officers had to consult prosecutors because they were divided: half wanted to arrest her, the other half wanted to let her go with a warning.
