Pet Friendly

Jason Payne, 35, of London, England, traveled to Basingstoke to attend a friend’s birthday party. When he booked a room at the Basingstoke Hilton, he noted in the comments on the form that “There’s a large snake in my trousers. Hope that’s OK.” He figured no one would read the comment, but when he checked in the clerk laughed at the comment. Payne, a computer programmer, said there were no incidents during his stay, but when he returned home, he had an e-mail from Hilton manager Cathrin Wurst — banning him from the hotel for life. The chain’s corporate office confirmed that such decisions are “at the discretion of the hotel team,” and added that “Hilton Basingstoke continues to operate a legitimate pet-friendly policy.” (RC/Basingstoke Gazette) ...Dudes! It’s not that kind of snake!
