Railroad Crossing

“It’s just a recipe for disaster,” said Toronto, Ont., Canada, police Sgt. Tim Burrows. A 30-year-old man was apparently listening to his portable stereo with headphones and didn’t watch where he was going, and walked onto the tracks in the path of the Maple Leaf train between New York, N.Y., and Toronto. He was killed. The same train had hit a woman on the tracks in Buffalo, N.Y., earlier the same day. The woman, also in her 30s, was also killed. “It’s too early to tell what she was doing on the railroad tracks,” a Buffalo police detective said.
