Railroaded

Aretha Brown, 66, has a parking problem. Railway CSX parked a train along the tracks that go through the front yard of her home in Callahan, Fla., and left it there. And it has been there for weeks. She needs work done on her house, but “I can’t get anyone to come and make repairs because they won’t climb under the train,” Brown says. She has to crawl under it herself to get her mail, head to church in her nice clothes, or go to the store — and has to drag her groceries under the 40-car-long train when she comes back. CSX says it knows nothing of Brown’s problem, and refuses to disconnect two cars so she can walk between them. A spokesman says the train holds supplies for track work down the line. (RC/Jacksonville Times-Union) ...I’m just going to take a wild guess and postulate Ms Brown isn’t rich, powerful, or white.
