Sgt. Bilko Is on the Move Again

People around Sanford, Fla., called 911 to report a military vehicle driving without headlights, dragging a construction barrel, and ignoring red lights. Police eventually apprehended Jose Quinones, 19, who had allegedly stolen the 5-ton Humvee from the new Army Reserve Training Center in town. “Quinones was very confused, mumbled and could barely stand,” a sheriff’s office spokesman said. “A marijuana cigarette was found in the Humvee.” According to deputies, Quinones climbed the 7-foot fence surrounding the facility. There was not 24-hour security or cameras at the training center. “We did have all the security measures in place that the military requires,” the battalion’s operations officer said. “Here we are in the middle of a community in Sanford and not behind the walls of a military base. This setup made us a little bit more vulnerable,” another officer explained. “But we are doing everything that we can to strengthen our posture here to prevent this from happening again in the future.” (MS/Orlando Sentinel) ...Tanks for the reassurance.
